I have a thing for the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz. She used to scare the bejeezus out of me when I was a little girl. She, along with the giant glowing wizard head in the Emerald City would cause me to watch with one eye peeping out from under a blanket. Now I have a little Wicked Witch collection. It started out as just the Wicked Witch of the West but now I seem to pick up any Witch here or there that strikes my fancy. My favorite is one that is a porcelain likeness of Margaret Hamilton in full makeup and in the most exquisite black layered dress and pointy hat. I love her. You can see her if you scroll down to my Halloween decorations from this post. I came across this recent interview of 5 of the remaining Munchkins from the Original movie. I love this clip. I love how they love the movie and how they loved Judy Garland. I hope you will enjoy it too. Scroll down on the left to my music playlist to pause it before playing the clip. Do watch it...or (insert wicked laugh) I'll get you my pretty....and your little dog, too! xo xo -CS ^..^

That was adorable, Cat - thanks for sharing that! Oz is my favorite oldie to watch - used to get the kids on the couch with popcorn every year to watch it - when Danny Kay was the 'host' way back when!!! Ahhhh - memories.....
I always enjoy your posts Cat....are you busy making Christmas items?
Hey Cathy!
I was always scared of The Wizard of Oz too! I thought I would tell you about a lady who lived in WV who was in the movie. This is what was said about her in the movie on our local news:
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One of the most popular films of all time, "The Wizard of Oz" marks its 70th anniversary this year.
Here's a tidbit you might not know: one of the Munchkins from the movie lived in Kanawha County up until her death last year. But if you blink, you might miss Donna Hardway in the film.
She briefly can be seen peeking out at Judy Garland's character Dorothy Gale when Dorothy arrives in Munchkinland.
Hardway was one of a few children who played Munchkins in the movie. Most of the munchkins were adult dwarfs or midgets. The producers couldn't find enough little people for the movie, so they cast children for some of the roles. Hardway was only one of six in the movie.
Her husband, Nelson Hardway of Pinch, said he doesn't watch the movie as much these days. He said it's harder to watch now that his wife is no longer here.
Donna Hardway died last November after a series of strokes. She was 75.
Pretty interesting isn't it!
Hugs,
Angela
Hey Cathy,
I haven't visited you in ages.
OMG - that they are still living is amazing. Supposedly they have shorter lives due to health issues. Horray for them!!!
Have you read or seen the play Wicked? If you can believe it - she really was a nice witch!
Hi there, Cathy!
What a great video! My hometown boasted one of the munchkins (he played a soldier), and he was sadly missed when he died last year. He would have loved to have been in on this interview.
Cheers,
Marqueta
