"Life isn't long enough to do all you could accomplish. And what a privilege even to be alive. In spite of all the pollutions and horrors, how beautiful this world is.
Supposing you only saw the stars once every year. Think what you would think. The wonder of it!"--Tasha Tudor

Corgis by candlelight...

Oh my goodness did we ever have a storm here over the weekend! John and I decided to take a ride into town to pick up a few things at the grocery store. When we were done, we stopped to get a little Chinese and Japanese take out (yes, both!) Suddenly on our way home it was like the scene from the Wizard of Oz. I was expecting Miss Gulch to fly by on her bicycle with one of my Corgis in her basket. Tree branches and things were flying everywhere. We were almost home, half way down our street when we saw a police car and a bunch of flares on the ground. A huge tree had fallen, completely blocking the street and taking the power lines with it. We had to take a back way home. Luckily, we had a flashlight and some candles near the front door (it was pitch black inside and out!) Mary Elizabeth had given me a couple of these really awesome stay-cool plastic battery powered light bulbs one year with a Christmas gift. They surely came in handy! -CS ^..^
